Northwich has raised its profile thanks to a packed events calendar, from international festivals to smaller scale events in the town centre.
This year the town centre traders are supporting Visual Arts Cheshire Art Trail, with 50+ traders hosting local resident’s artwork in their shop windows. Northwich has also teamed up with Cheshire Downs Syndrome Support Group to become a ‘Makaton Friendly’ town.
Raising the profile of Northwich continues through digital initiatives, including a series of social media live videos, featuring independent traders.
Environmentally, Northwich is upping its game, creating wildflower gardens in the town centre and organising community litter picks.
And businesses are diversifying. Cafes are providing gallery spaces, independent wool shops offer knitting classes, and barbers are even selling their own brew! The next 12 months will see a big focus on town centre accessibility, and progressing a Town Hosts volunteer programme to provide welcome facilities for visitors.
